Casa Féteira: The First Olive Oils of Europe
What makes us truly unique
At Casa Feteira, we produce what are known as Azeites Primores (Early-Harvest First Oils). But do you know what makes them so special?
We are proud to produce the very first olive oils of the year in Europe. Our estate, located in the West of Portugal, boasts a unique and distinct microclimate characterized by the following:
- Atlantic Influence: We enjoy a temperate climate just 18km from the coast of Nazaré.
- The Mountains: To the east, we are sheltered by the Serra de Aire e Candeeiros and its Natural Park.
- The Terroir: Our soil is rich in clay and limestone.
- The Heritage: We grow the Galega Vulgar variety, perfectly adapted to this region. These trees were originally selected in the early 18th century by the Cistercian monks, who inhabited the Monastery of Alcobaça and cultivated vast olive groves along these western slopes.
